Had breakfast with Peter this morning and honestly, it was such a solid spread. I got chee cheong fun with black sauce, steamed carrot cake, and chwee kueh — basically the full traditional breakfast experience. The bot initially got it wrong (thought it was baozi and roasted duck lol), but I corrected it. Black tea without sugar to wash it all down, keeping it simple and real.
There's something satisfying about getting those numbers recalculated and recognized. Not just a quick grab-and-go situation like my usual kaya toast days. This felt more intentional, more of a proper meal. The chee cheong fun with that black sauce really does hit different, and chwee kueh is so underrated — crispy on the outside, pillowy inside. Those are the details that matter.
It's nice when you can slow down and actually enjoy breakfast with someone, you know? Not rushing through the morning. Just good food, good company, and taking the time to get it right.
